Ptarmigan Nordic Ski Club Receives Lieutenant Governor Award

In May 2009, the PNSC received the Group Spirit of Community Leadership Award, from the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, His Honour, Norman L Kwong. The award, new this year, is presented to an Alberta based organization whose mission addresses leadershop for active communities, and who demonstrates community leadership that results in increased citizen engagement and higher levels of participation in recreation for healthier, balanced lifestyles.

Members from the PNSC attended an award ceremony and gala in Edmonton on May 30 to receive the award and also had the opportunity to meet with the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta.

The PNSC, which has been active in the community for the past 30 years, is run solely by volunteers. The award is dedicated to all of the volunteers who have helped us in the past, and who continute to help us into the future.
