JackRabbit  

Program Overview

The Jackrabbit program is aimed at children ages 6 to 9.  The emphasis of the program is for children to develop ski techniques in a fun environment.

When? How Much?

​

Jack Rabbit 1

10 week session. $80/session. 60 min lesson on Saturdays at 2pm starting in JANUARY. (some Saturdays are family ski days, not lesson days, minimum 8 lessons)

Jack Rabbit 2

10 week session. $100/session. 60 min lesson twice a week. Tuesday and Saturday starting in January. (some Saturdays are family ski days, not lesson days, minimum 16 lessons)

​

Jack Rabbit 3/4

16 weeks. $150. 1 session. 60 min lesson twice a week starting in November. Tuesdays at 6pm and Saturdays at 2pm.

Where do I get skis?

Three Options:

1. Will pick up skis & boots before class and return equipment to the Equipment Room after each lesson. $0.00

2. Classic ski rental (skis & boots) for 1 session. $35.00  - Equipment to be picked up before session start and dropped off at the last lesson.

3. Classic ski rental (skis, boots & poles) for 2 sessions. $75.00 - You will be able to keep the equipment for the entire season. **This is only available for those registered in both sessions**

Jackrabbit 3 & 4 

The emphasis of the program is for children to develop ski techniques in a fun environment.

In addition, children develop confidence, ski and socialize with other skiers their age, build on their overall motor skills development, and above all, have fun! Skiers signing up for this program should have 1-2 years of skiing experience and be comfortable with classic technique including double poling on moderate hills.

Skiers will :

  • 6-9 years old

  • Be proficient with classic technique on flat and hilly terrain

  • Be introduced to basic skate technique on flat and hilly terrain

  • Develop confidence on skis

  • Learn how to dress for cold weather

  • Have opportunities to participate in fun Jackrabbits events

  • Participants will receive a Swix brand toque and Jackrabbit booklet to add skill sticker awards.

Cost: $85.00 (does not include Membership)


1 hour class, twice a week. 16 weeks.

​

Tuesday 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Saturday 2:00pm - 3:00pm

Parent Involvement

Parents are expected to help with clothes and equipment, joining in classes and games if needed, and arranging refreshments. Parents are also encouraged to become certified instructors by taking the training courses arranged by the Ski Club.
