December 2023 Update
Even though we have had a slow start to the ski season - not enough snow to groom trails yet - we have had some exciting events happen so far. And a few fun ones coming up to take us to the New Year.
Dec 9/10 was the quailifier for ARCTIC WINTER GAMES and we are proud to announce that the following 5 Ptarmigan Skiers, Kail S, Markus R, Joel R, Liliy S and Claire R along with skiers from Wapiti Nordic will be reporesenting Alberta North. The Arctic Winter Games will be held in Mat-Su, Alaska Mar 10 -16/24. Congrats to all!!!
Then on Dec 17 there was the Biathlon Zone 7 quailifier for Alberta Winter Games which will be held in Grande Prairie Feb 16 -19. The following Ptarmigan Skiers and Cadets secured a spot to represent Zone 7. Leander S Kyros S Agnes H Edith H Lily S Tula S Markus R Catherine V Daniel V Mathys G and Saket P. Congrats to all!!
Upcoming this month are two fun events!!
Tuesday Dec 26 - Turkey Burn with a twist this year - not looking like there will be enough snow but still will host this annual event - 3pm to 7ish. Starry Night Theme. Come join us for some snacks anytime after 3pm - Traditional grøt will be served warm - a rice porridge that has an almond hidden within and some one will be the lucky winner. Please bring along something to share in the feast. We have a small hike planned once it is dark enough along Moose Trail with some surprises along there!
Saturday Dec 30 - Ski Like Ole Papapalooza - a fun day of enjoying the outdoors, enjoying life. Details on this event will be in your PNSC newsletter on Friday Dec 22/24
